Audience feedback on JA
This movie rocks. Hrithik feels and looks like a king in the film. He completely stole the show away from Aishwarya. The vastness of the film makes every scene look magnanimous. I couldn't move my eyes off the screen. Everyone in the audience was attentively watching each scene too. I didn't see a single person sleeping.
The director has done a good job by managing to capture everyone's attention for three and a half hours.
I have learned so much from this film. It is a must watch for people who like history.
This Hindu-Muslim love story has come at the right time considering the prejudice and political turmoil in the city. So everyone should watch the film because it has been released at an apt time.

The elephant was mistreated
Many animal activists were against this film because animals used in it were mistreated. I don't know how much of that is true but I didn't quite like the way Hrithik Roshan handled the elephant in the film.
He was pretty harsh with it. There is a scene where he is trying to tame an elephant and it seemed as if the animal was being forced against its own wishes.

As an epic film, I would give it a thumbs up. It was comparatively better than movies like Asoka which was very badly made.
The music was awesome and it complimented the time it was depicting. Aishwarya Rai looked as beautiful as she was when she started. She was the perfect actress for the role of Princess Jodhaa.

The film is not for softies
If you didn't know anything about history or India's past, this film is a must watch. Ashutosh Gowarikar has always been a brilliant director, and this time too he has made one classy film.
I particularly liked the war sequence because it had lakhs of people all together. The war sequence was shot realistically and I'd advice the soft hearted to stay at home. This movie is not for emotional and romantic people.
The massive scale of actors made the film visually appealing. The costumes were also very nice because they depicted India's culture. I loved the song called 'marhaba' which praises Akbar has to be my favourite. That song is stuck in my head. I also loved the scene where Hrithik tames a elephant.

The film was too long
Jodhaa Akbar is one classy film. I loved every moment of it because it gave me complete visual pleasure.
Personally, it was a very long film but it had to be because it is an epic. The length allowed the director to capture and showcase a particular period of time in history.
I have read about Akbar in my history text book but the film made the whole story so much more interesting. It was a different experience altogether. I won't touch any history book now. Films are a way better medium to learn about India's past.
Both the actors looked exceptionally good and I was impressed by their performances. I want to see the film again. Maybe I’ll watch it after some days.

The film is a visual spectacle
I am from New Zealand and don't understand Hindi, but watching this historical was a learning experience.
I specifically read up about India's history before I came for the film. The carefully shot sequences gave me a lot of insight on that period in history.
I had heard a lot about the two lead actors and liked the way they expressed their emotions in the film. Their closeness on the silver screen made the film also an emotional and intimate experience for me. The whole film was a visual spectacle for me.
The war scenes and songs were very well choreographed. This film is a must watch for people who want to learn about India's history. It makes historical texts come alive.

A lesson in history
This film is like a page from a history text book. I loved it because I learned about the mannerisms, culture and behaviour of people, way back in time.
The film shows how women, in that time, sang songs while serving food. So I learned a lot about history.
The film depicted Hindu-Muslim unity very well. The animals have been used well to add to the drama in the film. I remember shots of an elephant crushing a human being.
Historicals are fun.
Some one should make a film on Tipu Sultan now. If Indian directors make films like these, we won’t need history text books any more. Students could watch films instead of reading boring texts. The visual impact of the films are also ever lasting.

Mughal-e-azam is way better
The film didn't live up to my expectations. Mughal-e-azam was a better historical. But, I am glad I watched it because I learned something about Jodhaa and Akbar.
The film was interesting because it showcased certain aspects of an era which most of us do not know about.
I don't know why there is a hue and cry about animals being misused. The realistic portrayal of animals made the film more interesting. The elephant taming scene was very exciting. All the animals in the film looked very healthy and happy in the film. So activists shouldn’t have a problem.
Aishwarya Rai was a little plastic in the beginning few scenes. I particularly liked the Sufi music and song visualisations. The film is good for a one-time watch only.

Ash didn't look like a queen
I heard about the controversy surrounding the film therefore, came to watch it on the first day.
I read that the film is banned in Rajasthan because Jodhaa apparently was not Akbar's real wife.
I love trivia about India's past little controversies like these make history very interesting.
I'd advice all school students to come to the theatre and watch this film. It will teach them more about history than their text books.
Aishwarya looked very comfortable with Hrithik. But she didn't look like a queen.
Hrithik on the other hand, was perfect for king. The camel and elephant fight scenes were memorable.

There are good movies. And then there are great movies. But very few are truly epics. I can very confidently say that Jodhaa Akbar is going to be an epic.
Do not be daunted by the 195 minutes runtime of the movie. At no point in the movie will you be aware of the time. The performances put in by Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai,along with the ethereal music provided by A.R.Rahman and the stunning costumes by Neeta Lulla are going to blow your breath away.
No Indian cinema has ever evoked such a strong mixture of emotions in the audience as this one. Each and every frame of the movie is a treat to the eyes. There is richness and grandeur in every aspect of the film.
‘Jashn-e-bahara’ and ‘Khwaja mere Khwaja’ are superbly shot and executed songs. And then ‘Azeem oh Shan Shahenshah’ is one song that will remain etched in your memory long after you leave the theater.
The scenes where the Emperor Akbar tames the wild elephant and the sword fight between the royal couple are truly memorable. The battle sequences are captured very well.
The initial mistrust between Akbar and Jodha bai and the subsequent budding romance are handled brilliantly.
Hrithik is superb as the Emperor Akbar and I doubt if any actor of his generation could have handled this role as well. And Aishwarya Rai as usual looks stunningly beautiful.
All in all, a tremendous movie and I am going to strongly recommend this to all my friends.
Thank you Ashutosh for Jodhaa Akbar.

I absolutely loved the movie. Hrithik stole the show. It was the perfect choic in the brave role of akbar, no one could replace it. Heithik did justic with the role and so did aishwarya. The cinematography was amazing and has got a lot of praise. Each battle sequence and shot is remarkable. The sword fight between the couple was nail biting. Each set was realistic and it really looked as if you were watching something from the 16th centuary. Jodhaa Akbar will swipe the awards next year. Simply mesmerizing!
