Mughal Dynasty Kin Defends Jodhaa Akbar
Y. Ziadddin Tucy (70) the great grandson of the late Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar has asserted that Akbar had indeed married Rajput princess Jodha Bai and the various allegations by Rajput groups of distorting history are false.
He claimed that that even today, he treasures a painting of Akbar and Jodha at his rented quarters in Chanchalguda area of Hyderabad which was painted after their Nikaah.
Tucy also said that after the Nikaah with Akbar, Jodha Bai a Rajput was renamed Maryam Zamani Begum.
